local Theater group Promises Nostalgic Laughs with “At Full Throttle to teh 80s“
Ehrwald, Austria – Prepare for a trip back in time! A new comedy, “At Full Throttle to the 80s,” is set to premiere in Ehrwald’s Zugspitzsaal this September, promising an evening of humor and nostalgia for those who remember the decade of big hair and even bigger dreams. Featuring local performer Slow Shalle, the play centers on Sabine and Holger, a pair of adults unexpectedly thrown back into their youth thanks to a functioning time machine.
The ensuing chaos unfolds as the duo attempts to navigate the past, convincingly posing as relatives from East Germany (GDR) while dodging increasingly awkward situations. The plot thickens when Sabine unexpectedly introduces her childhood sweetheart to the present day, creating a delightful clash of eras.
Beyond the comedic premise, the production offers a playful commentary on the evolution of technology and culture. A character from the 80s is confronted with the realities of modern life - smartphones, voice assistants, and even robotic vacuum cleaners - culminating in a satirical look at contemporary society.
Performances are scheduled across three weekends in September. Theatergoers can also indulge in a themed snack and beverage bar, complete with the iconic 80s treat, the “cheese ranger.”
“At Full Throttle to the 80s” is poised to be a fun and engaging evening for theater enthusiasts and anyone seeking a dose of nostalgia.
