Arab Parliament Delegation Reaffirms Support for Lebanon‘s Stability During Al-Diman Visit
Al-Diman, Lebanon - A delegation from teh Arab Parliament, led by Mohamed Ahmed Al-Yamaji, met yesterday evening with Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Raei to discuss the current situation in Lebanon and the wider region. The visit underscores the Arab world’s continued commitment to Lebanon’s security and sovereignty amidst ongoing challenges.
The delegation, which included Vice President MP Ahmed Al-Jubouri, MPs Atallah Al-Hunaiti and Mamdouh al-Saleh, Secretary-General Kamel Shaarawi, and Assistant Secretary-General for Parliamentary and Legal Affairs Imad Al-Sahaf, engaged in discussions with the Patriarch regarding recent developments. This meeting signals a unified message of support for Lebanon at a critical juncture, as the nation navigates political and economic instability, and ongoing border disputes.
Following the meeting, Al-Yamaji emphasized the importance of religious leadership in Lebanon and the arab Parliament’s unwavering support for the country. “Today I met with the author of the Patriarch Bechara Boutros Al-Ra’i,and we emphasized the status of religious symbols and its national responsibilities that we appreciate and value its role,” he stated. “Our steadfast support for lebanon is firm,and Lebanon’s security and stability is the security and stability of the Arab world.”
Al-Yamaji further affirmed the Arab Parliament’s dedication to Lebanon’s territorial integrity and its efforts to pressure Israel to withdraw from lebanese lands unconditionally. “The Arab Parliament always supports everything that confirms the unity and stability of lebanon and the integrity of its lands,” he said. “We work in all international forums… and we know the ability of the Lebanese people to face challenges and return Lebanon to its position under the leadership and the presidency of the government and support everything that leads to Lebanon’s return to its great position and building institutions and supporting the economy.”
