TNI Report Against Ferry Irwandi Blocked ⁢by jakarta Police

Jakarta, Indonesia – Teh Jakarta Metropolitan Police declined to accept a report filed by the‍ indonesian National Army (TNI) against Ferry⁤ Irwandi,‍ CEO of Malacca Project, regarding alleged criminal ⁤acts and defamation, officials confirmed Monday. ⁢The TNI had sought ⁣to file‌ a complaint‍ based on findings from ‌its cyber patrols concerning content ⁢created by Irwandi.

The rejection stems from jurisdictional issues and questions surrounding the nature of the alleged offenses, according⁣ to sources within the Jakarta Police.‌ While the TNI maintains it uncovered evidence of criminal activity through its cyber monitoring, police‌ officials indicated the matter falls⁤ outside their ‌purview and ⁤may require further internal examination within the military justice ‍system. This growth halts, at least⁤ temporarily, any ⁣immediate criminal proceedings ⁤against Irwandi. On September 8, 2025,⁤ a delegation from the TNI-including Brigadier General Juinta Omboh Sembiring (Danstsiber TNI), Major General Yusri Nuryanto (Danpuspom), Brigadier General (Mar) Freddy Ardianzah (TNI Head of Legal Affairs), and Rear Admiral‌ Farid Ma’ruf (Kababinkum⁣ TNI)-visited ⁢Metro Jaya ‌Police Headquarters to consult on the potential report.

“Our consultation was related to us‍ finding the results of the cyber patrol, we found some facts of the alleged criminal acts committed by Brother Ferry Irwandi,” Brigadier General⁢ Juinta Omboh sembiring told reporters at the time.

The TNI’s⁤ move followed public statements⁣ made by Irwandi, where he‍ reportedly expressed defiance towards potential legal action ⁤from a‌ TNI General. the case highlights the complex‍ relationship between civilian law enforcement and the military justice system‍ in⁢ Indonesia,‍ particularly concerning‍ online speech and alleged defamation. It remains unclear whether‌ the TNI ⁢will pursue ⁤other avenues ⁣to ‍address its concerns⁤ regarding Irwandi’s online activity.
