Final Fantasy VII: Remake‘s Release Timeline Confirmed, Progress “Moving Smoothly” Says Nomura

During a recent 2nd Anniversary stream⁣ for Final Fantasy⁤ VII: Ever Crisis, director Tetsuya Nomura revealed ⁣that development of the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII: Remake ‍ is progressing according to a set schedule with‌ a confirmed release timeframe. Nomura offered the update while‌ discussing the status of both Remake and Kingdom Hearts IV.

While remaining tight-lipped on specifics to avoid surprises, Nomura stated, “…everything went ⁢very smoothly.I ⁣could not ‍really say more-if I suddenly said, ‘well, actually …’ everyone will be really surprised! So yes, everything‍ goes very smoothly, and the release time has been decided. We ‌move forward according to that schedule‌ now, so⁣ rest assured and patient.” This ‌news offers the first concrete indication in some time ⁤that the project remains on track, alleviating concerns stemming from the multi-part nature of the Remake project ⁤and the extended development cycles typical of Square Enix’s large-scale titles.

The Final Fantasy VII: Remake project ‌aims to fully‍ recreate the 1997 classic in a modern format, expanded with new storylines and gameplay elements. The‌ first installment,‍ Final Fantasy VII Remake, ⁣released in 2020 to critical and commercial success. Subsequent parts are expected to cover the remaining sections of the original game’s narrative, with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth – the second part – launching ⁢in February 2024. Fans have been eagerly awaiting⁤ updates on the⁣ progress of⁢ future installments, and Nomura’s comments ⁢suggest the team is focused on delivering the next chapter⁤ as planned.
