malaysia Exceeds Investment Targets at expo 2025 Osaka
OSAKA: Malaysia has surpassed its goals at Expo 2025 osaka, securing approximately RM15.6 billion in potential trade and investment – exceeding the initial target of RM13 billion. This achievement represents 120% of the baseline goal, demonstrating Malaysia’s increasing global appeal and strong international partnerships.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof attributed this success too a collaborative, whole-of-government approach, spearheaded by the dynamic Malaysia Pavilion. The pavilion is on track to host over 208 business programmes and 98 non-business activities before the expo concludes on October 13th.The pavilion’s curated industry weeks, focusing on sectors like green energy, halal innovation, digital transformation, and advanced manufacturing, have drawn significant global attention. These programmes align with key national policies including the Green Investment Strategy and the National Semiconductor Strategy, and promote high-value sectors such as aerospace, electrical and electronics, pharmaceuticals, and the digital economy – reflecting the National Industrial Master Plan 2030 and the MADANI Economy framework.Since opening on April 13th,the Malaysia Pavilion has welcomed over 2.8 million visitors, nearly double its original target of 1.5 million. This strong response is attributed to the pavilion’s compelling blend of Malaysian culture, heritage, and people.
The pavilion’s design, featuring a bamboo facade inspired by interwoven songket fabric and an interior utilizing Malaysian wood and natural tones, beautifully connects Malaysian landscapes with Japanese traditions. Visitors have also been captivated by daily cultural performances, business programmes, and live culinary showcases, including the popular roti canai, leading to a nomination as the Best International Gourmet Pavilion.
These initiatives are elevating malaysia’s brand and preparing the nation to host the world during Visit malaysia Year 2026 with its renowned hospitality. Malaysia’s participation in Expo 2025 aims to translate synergy into sustainable outcomes, attracting investments, strengthening key industries, and integrating Malaysian businesses into global supply chains. With just 35 days remaining,Fadillah Yusof encourages everyone to visit the pavilion and experience the charm of Malaysia.
