Bupyeong-gu,Incheon,South Korea – September 7,2025 – In a significant step towards bolstering community wellbeing, the Bupyeong District of Incheon City is enacting a new ordinance to integrate local care services, encompassing medical support,long-term care, and assistance for daily living. The move aims to provide thorough support for residents facing challenges due to aging, disability, illness, or accidents.
The legislative notice for the “Ordinance on the integrated Support of Local Care, such as Bupyeong-gu Medical and Nursing Care” was released today, outlining the district’s commitment to a holistic approach to resident care. The ordinance, which will be enacted on March 27,2026,delegates authority to the district head to implement policies that address the diverse needs of its citizens.
A Broad Spectrum of Support
The new ordinance will facilitate a wide range of support services, including:
Healthcare Support: Focusing on preventative care and management of conditions like dementia, chronic diseases, disabilities, and mental health concerns.
Daily Life Assistance: Providing support for essential activities such as health management, physical activity, and household chores.
Palliative Care: Offering relaxation and medical support for terminally ill patients.
Housing Solutions: Exploring options like care relief housing to provide appropriate living arrangements.
Technology-Enabled Care: Leveraging Facts and Communication Technology (ICT) to deliver efficient and accessible services.

“This ordinance is a crucial step in ensuring our residents have access to the care and support they need to live fulfilling lives,” stated a district representative. “By integrating these services,we can create a more responsive and effective system that addresses the complex needs of our community.”
Collaboration and Accessibility
The district emphasizes a collaborative approach, having already held a public-private meeting with representatives from the National Health Insurance corporation, local medical institutions, and private care providers. This meeting, attended by 30 officials, focused on drafting the ordinance to best serve the needs of Bupyeong residents.
To enhance accessibility, the district plans to establish an integrated support window at the East Administrative Welfare Center, offering a single point of contact for residents seeking assistance. An integrated support meeting will also be established to deliberate and approve support plans.
Next Steps
the district intends to present the ordinance to the Bupyeong-gu council in November for final approval. This initiative underscores Incheon’s commitment to proactive social welfare policies and positions Bupyeong-gu as a leader in integrated community care.
