Sinner, Alcaraz to Clash in US Open Final for Third Consecutive Grand Slam Showdown
NEW YORK – Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz will contest the US Open final, setting up a winner-takes-all clash and marking their third consecutive Grand Slam final meeting. Sinner advanced after defeating Daniil Medvedev 6-4,6-4,6-4 in the semi-final,while Alcaraz overcame Ben Shelton 6-3,6-2,7-6(5). The match will be played on Sunday, with Sinner aiming to defend his 2023 US Open title and Alcaraz seeking his second US Open crown.
This rivalry has quickly become one of the most compelling in men’s tennis. Sinner currently holds a 4-3 advantage in head-to-head matches against Alcaraz, having won at Wimbledon earlier this year, while Alcaraz triumphed at Roland Garros after saving three championship points. Sinner is seeking to become the first reigning men’s champion to defend the US Open title since roger Federer’s run of five consecutive titles from 2004-08.
