Women’s Golf: Cincinnati Travels to Golfweek Fall Challenge

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The ‍University of Cincinnati women’s golf team begins its 2024‌ fall season this weekend at the Golfweek Fall Challenge, hosted Sunday through Tuesday ​at the caledonia⁣ Golf & ⁣Fish Club ‌in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.

The ‍Bearcats will compete ‌against‌ a 20-team field including Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Boise State, Campbell, Coastal Carolina, Delaware, East Carolina, East tennessee state, High​ Point, Lipscomb, Morehead State, Presbyterian, ‌Troy, UNC Greensboro, UNC ​Wilmington, USC Upstate, and Winthrop.

Cincinnati is looking to continue its⁣ consistent start to seasons under head coach‍ Aimee ponte, having ⁢finished fourth at‌ the Jennifer​ Duke Invitational in ⁢2023 and seventh at K-State’s Powercat Invitational ​last year.

Leading the way for Cincinnati will be⁣ returning players ​Garcia, ⁣who posted ⁣a team-best 74.54 stroke average last season and secured a third-place finish at the Boilermaker Spring Classic, and Rim Imni, who competed in every tournament during her first year‌ as a ⁢bearcat with a 76.71 average.
