Björn Borg Reveals Battle with Aggressive Prostate Cancer
By Dr.Michael Lee, World-Today-News.com – Tennis legend Björn Borg has publicly disclosed his recent diagnosis with an “extremely aggressive” form of prostate cancer. The revelation comes in his forthcoming memoir, “Heartbeats,” and was confirmed in an interview with the Associated press.
The 69-year-old Swedish icon underwent surgery last year and reports feeling significantly improved. Recent tests conducted in August showed no signs of the disease. However, Borg emphasized the ongoing nature of his care, stating, “I don’t have anything at the moment. But I have to be examined every six months. The whole process is not a pleasant thing.”
Borg explained that he had been regularly screened for prostate cancer for “many, many years,” highlighting the often-asymptomatic nature of the disease. “The thing is that you don’t feel anything – you feel good, and then it just happened,” he said. Doctors discovered irregularities during a routine examination in September 2023, leading to the diagnosis.
