Houston Ticket Worth $2 Million Sold in Wednesday’s Powerball Drawing

A Powerball ticket purchased in Houston is worth $2 million, the Texas Lottery confirmed Thursday. The winning ticket, a Quick Pick option with the Power Play feature selected, matched all five white ball numbers drawn Wednesday night.

While no one nationwide hit the $1.4 billion jackpot, the Houston winner secured a substantial prize. the ticket was sold at Barri, located at 601 North Cesar Chavez Blvd in the East End. Winners have 180 days from the draw date to claim prizes, and this win comes as the Powerball jackpot continues to climb.

Wednesday’s winning numbers were 3, 16, 29, 61, and 69, with a Powerball of 22. The $2 million prize is awarded for matching all five white ball numbers, but not the Powerball, when the Power Play option is purchased.

The Powerball jackpot for the next drawing on Saturday, September 6, has increased to an estimated $1.7 billion, with a cash value of approximately $770.3 million.
