Jakarta Police Arrest TikToker‍ Figha Lesmana Following student⁤ Protest invitation

Jakarta,‍ Indonesia – The Jakarta Metropolitan Police have ⁤arrested TikToker Figha Lesmana in connection with inciting student demonstrations, authorities announced Tuesday. The arrest is part of a broader‍ investigation into riots ⁢that ​occurred during protests in Jakarta on August 25th and ⁤28th, 2025.

The arrest of Lesmana, a prominent social media figure, highlights the increasing scrutiny of online activity linked to public ​demonstrations. Police are focusing on identifying and apprehending individuals believed to be the primary ⁤instigators of the unrest, aiming to deter future disruptions and⁤ maintain public order. to date, 43 individuals have been⁣ named as suspects in the ‍case, including 42 adults and one minor.

According to Kombes Pol Ade ary,head of Public ‌Relations ‌for the Jakarta Metropolitan Police,six suspects – identified by initials DMR,MS,SH,Ka,Rap,and FL – were initially arrested for allegedly spreading inflammatory content on social media platforms,encouraging students to engage in rioting during the demonstrations.​

“The six perpetrators were arrested after the​ Anarchist⁤ Task Force Gakkum conducted an investigation…and found a number of ‍evidence and information that made us determine⁢ the suspect,” ​Ary stated. DMR was⁣ apprehended in East Jakarta on September 1st, while MS was arrested at Jakarta Metropolitan Police headquarters the following‍ day while accompanying DMR. further arrests included SH in Bali, RAP in ⁤Palmerah⁤ (West Jakarta), and FL by the ⁢Metro ⁢Jaya Police⁣ Siber Investigation Directorate.

Authorities continue to investigate the riots ‍and seek to identify additional individuals involved in ⁤inciting violence. The‌ case underscores the challenges law enforcement faces in⁣ monitoring and responding to ‌online calls for protest and potential unrest.
