Pasig City, Philippines – The Philippine National Police – Highway patrol Group (HPG) is assisting the Bureau of Customs (BOC) in verifying the importation records of twelve luxury vehicles seized from the residence of contractors Curlee and Sarah Discaya in pasig City on September 2, 2025.The vehicles are currently under inquiry for potential lack of proper import documentation.
The collaboration between the HPG and BOC comes amid a broader investigation into the wealth of contractors involved in government flood control projects. The HPG’s involvement aims too determine the legitimacy of the vehicles’ entry into the country and ensure compliance with import regulations, a crucial step in uncovering potential irregularities.
HPG spokesperson Lt. Nadame Malang confirmed the BOC requested assistance in verifying eight of the twelve vehicles. “We already submitted our validation report, and it is up to the BOC to assess the findings and determine future action,” Malang stated during a news briefing at camp Crame on Thursday.
The HPG report includes details such as vehicle type, country of origin, motor vehicle file number, and registered owner. While the specifics of the HPG’s findings have not been publicly released, Malang indicated the BOC will decide whether to disclose the data.
Ongoing coordination meetings between the PNP and BOC are taking place, though no formal request has been made to inspect additional vehicles owned by the Discayas or other contractors linked to alleged “ghost projects.” The HPG remains prepared to assist as needed.
The HPG is responsible for inspecting and verifying all imported vehicles before registration with the land Transportation Office, ensuring proper documentation of importation and ownership. This case highlights the agencies’ combined efforts to combat illicit activities and uphold import regulations within the Philippines. (PNA)
