Cradle of Fillth Drama: Dani Filth Responds to Departures & Accusations

Cradle of Filth Addresses Recent Departures and Accusations

Dani Filth, frontman of Cradle of Filth, released a detailed statement on Friday addressing ⁣the recent and sudden departures of guitarist Marek “Ashok“‍ Šmerda and keyboardist Zoë Mr. Federoff, and also ⁢responding to subsequent accusations of unfair ⁢compensation and “non-professional behaviors.”

Federoff initially announced her departure citing “personal reasons.” Shortly after, the band⁤ announced Šmerda’s “immediate effect” dismissal⁤ – Šmerda being ⁢Federoff’s husband. These departures quickly‍ escalated⁤ into a public dispute, with both Federoff and Šmerda ⁣voicing grievances against⁢ the band and its management.

While initially⁢ commenting on Šmerda’s dismissal, Filth’s latest statement, published ⁤on social media, provides a‍ more⁣ thorough account of the situation.

“I believe it is time to reveal my version of the facts, now that ⁤so many accusations have been⁣ brought against the group, our management and I personally,” Filth wrote, ‌apologizing for the delay in responding, explaining the ‍need for composure and the ⁣difficulty of ⁤addressing the issue while on tour in South America.Filth addressed claims of restrictive contracts, stating,⁣ “We ‌do⁣ not prohibit ⁣our musicians from ‌collaborating with⁢ other ‌groups; We only ask for ‍adequate planning.”⁣ He also defended the band’s management team.

Regarding⁢ Federoff’s portrayal of events, Filth expressed sadness that their ⁢private conversations were “distorted to serve an ⁣agenda and made public.” He continued,⁤ acknowledging the business⁤ aspect of the band,⁤ stating,‍ “And yes, regrettably, a group remains a business, and when you see a person sowing‍ trouble, drinking excessively, not writing, threatening to continue the group for the use of‍ their image, it⁣ was obvious that it was necessary to act.”

Filth further responded to ⁣accusations with⁢ personal claims regarding the ‌relationship between Federoff and Šmerda, citing “alcohol⁢ abuse, growing disputes and repeated public ⁤altercations” that created a “very disturbing⁤ atmosphere.” He also shared private messages revealing Šmerda’s critical ‌comments ⁤about the band’s ‌management, including disparaging remarks‌ towards Sharon Osbourne. “Ashok defended and attacked the royal Metal family, and we are ‍not going to let anyone ⁢talk about Ozzy’s wife,” Filth added.Despite ‍the turmoil, cradle of Filth’s ⁣South American tour continues uninterrupted, with replacements quickly integrated⁢ into the lineup. Filth concluded, “in short, I could expand for‍ a long time, but I⁤ just wanted to clarify certain things ‍and than leave ⁣you quiet.Thank you to all the⁣ many groups, fans and colleagues musicians who offered us support in this⁢ case.”
