Furukawa Kotone: “Anpan” Morning Drama Role & Nobu Tea Ceremony Disciple

NHK Morning Drama “Anpan” Draws Inspiration⁢ from Real-Life ‌Tea Ceremony Student

TOKYO – The upcoming NHK morning ⁣drama,⁣ “Anpan,” based on ‍the lives of “Anpanman“⁢ creator Takashi Yanase‌ and his wife Nobu, features a character⁤ modeled ‌after masako‍ Koshio, a long-time secretary⁣ to Yanase and current representative of Yanase Studio. Koshio⁤ met Nobu, ‍approximately 30 years​ her senior, at‍ a tea ceremony rehearsal. Furukawa Kotone will ⁢portray ⁢Nakao Hoshiko, the character inspired ⁤by Koshio, a student in a small tea class‍ hosted by ‌Nobu in ⁢her home tea room.

This marks Furukawa’s first morning drama appearance in five years, following her role in “Yell” (2020).⁢ She previously appeared in NHK’s special drama “Idol” (2012) and Taiga drama “what Will Ieyasu”​ (2013).

Furukawa described⁤ her character as someone who ​”supports Yanai ⁤and Nobu until the end, inherits the feelings of the two, and ⁤transfers Anpanman to the next generation.” she recalled Nobu being described as a “taku”‍ and‌ expressed being encouraged by the couple’s “pure⁣ love for Anpanman and unwavering ⁣core.”

The drama is written ⁢by Nakazono Miho, known for the “Doctor X: Surgeon Daimon‍ Michiko” series.Production Chief Producer Kurazaki Nori highlighted the⁤ enduring ‍popularity of “Anpanman” and the importance of those who continue to‍ share its ⁣appeal.He specifically sought Furukawa‍ for the role of Hoshiko, having been impressed by​ her “pure gaze and mysterious ‍presence”⁣ during their work on “Yell.”

“Anpan” is ‍scheduled to air soon, with producers⁤ encouraging⁢ viewers to watch until ‌the end.
