Tiffany stratton Credits Fan Reaction for Babyface Turn, Reveals Creative Shift following Elimination Chamber
PERTH, AUSTRALIA – Tiffany Stratton’s transition from villainous heel to fan-favorite babyface wasn’t a planned creative decision, but rather an organic shift sparked by audience reaction, teh rising WWE star revealed in a recent interview wiht the No Contest Wrestling Podcast with O’Shea Jackson. Stratton also discussed her comfort level with different character roles, stating she finds playing a heel “10 times easier” than portraying a babyface.
Stratton explained her initial success came while embracing the heel role, noting, “I feel like I was a heel right off the bat. So that’s why it comes so easy to me.” She elaborated on the challenges of being a babyface, explaining the higher expectations and potential for a negative crowd response. “As a baby face, if you do that [mess up], the crowd could turn on you, or you could get booed, and, you know, you’re supposed to be like the face of the company.”
The turning point occurred at the 2023 Elimination Chamber event in Perth, Australia. Stratton recalled the surprise of hearing the crowd chant “Tiffy Time” during her first Premium Live Event as a main roster talent. ”I really didn’t think anybody knew who I was, as I had just gotten called up, like, a month ago,” she said. Initially disbelieving, Stratton admitted to giggling inside her Chamber pod, questioning, “Are they chanting for me?”
The positive reaction provided both confidence and pressure. “It almost gave me,like,an adrenaline rush, and it gave me more confidence. But I also, like, put a little bit more pressure on myself, because I’m like, ‘Okay, now they’re chanting for me.I have them like, I hope I don’t mess anything up’,” she explained, calling the match her “breakout moment.”
Following the event, Stratton’s creative direction shifted. While her work as a heel initially garnered fan support, she noted the company requested a slight adjustment to her persona. “They’re kind of just like, you know, ‘be a little bit more likable now. You don’t need to be so bitchy in your promos,’ which, like, I understand fully,” she said. Stratton added she hadn’t intentionally changed anything about her performance, simply beginning to receive cheers from the audience.
