Morocco’s government Council to Tackle Victim Compensation, Higher Education & Kazakhstan Legal Pact

Rabat, morocco​ – September 3, ‍2025 -​ The Moroccan⁢ Council⁣ of Government is set to convene this Thursday, September 4th, under ⁢the leadership ⁤of⁤ Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch, with an agenda focused on strengthening legal⁤ protections for ⁣accident victims, clarifying the landscape of​ higher education, and‍ bolstering international judicial cooperation.

A key item for​ discussion is a bill designed to amend‌ the ‍ dahir – a royal decree – concerning compensation for individuals injured⁤ in accidents involving motor vehicles. The ⁤proposed changes aim‌ to reinforce ⁢the existing legal framework and⁤ ensure more comprehensive support for those affected.

Beyond victim ​support, the ‍Council will also review two draft decrees​ impacting the education sector. One decree will establish a definitive list of‌ higher education institutions operating‍ independently of‌ public universities. The ​second will address‍ remuneration protocols for reprographic reproduction, clarifying copyright ⁣and related rights within an academic context.

Demonstrating Morocco’s ‌commitment to international partnerships, the Council will consider a bill ⁤ratifying a legal assistance agreement ‍in criminal matters with Kazakhstan. Signed on December 12,2024,in Rabat,the agreement signifies‌ a mutual​ desire to enhance ⁢judicial collaboration between ⁣the two ‌nations. This move underscores Morocco’s growing role in regional legal cooperation.

The meeting will conclude with a review of proposed appointments to key governmental positions, adhering to the ‍stipulations outlined in⁤ Article 92 of​ the Moroccan constitution. ‌This routine but‍ vital process ensures​ continuity and⁢ effective ‌governance within the country’s ​administrative structure.
