Apple Adds 11-Inch MacBook Air & Macs to Obsolete List

apple has officially declared the 11-inch MacBook Air, along with the‍ 13-inch MacBook Pro (2012) adn⁣ the 27-inch​ iMac ‍(2009), obsolete as of September 30, 2025. this designation means Apple will no longer⁢ provide hardware repairs for thes models, even⁣ for issues covered under warranty or ⁢AppleCare.

The obsolescence‌ classification applies to machines more than seven years old, impacting service ​availability. while these products remain functional for their owners,Apple’s decision signals the end of ‍official support. This practice is standard for Apple, allowing the company to focus resources on​ current products and streamline its service operations. The 11-inch MacBook Air‍ was discontinued in 2018, the 13-inch MacBook Pro​ in 2012, and⁣ the 27-inch iMac in 2009. Prior to being labeled obsolete, these models had already been designated as “vintage,” meaning Apple may only offer⁣ repairs on a limited basis, depending on parts availability.
