CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - A notable group of University of North Carolina men’s basketball alumni recently gathered for informal workouts with the current team, including Cormac Ryan, Harrison Ingram, Garrison Brooks, and James Michael McAdoo. The impromptu sessions, which occurred throughout the past week, also featured first-round draft pick Drake Powell, Kenny Williams, Joel James, Desmond Hubert, Duwe Farris, and Walker Miller.
The workouts provided an opportunity for current players to compete against more seasoned competition and receive guidance from former Tar Heels. Armando Bacot showcased developing playmaking skills, assisting Brooks with a three-pointer and demonstrating improved driving ability. Ryan and Ingram quickly re-established their on-court chemistry, offering feedback during drills. McAdoo, a former Golden State Warriors NBA champion, advised a younger player to ”Throw that one up in the air” after a turnover on a bounce pass attempt.
These pre-practice workouts will continue through Sept. 22, when official practice begins. UNC Athletics has begun a series of features introducing the newest Tar Heels, recently highlighting Kyan evans through an Instagram reel and interview video.
