ROCKVILLE CENTER, N.Y. – Molloy University baseball standout Jack Coogan continues to build a decorated career, earning CSC Academic All-District honors and delivering a standout performance during the 2025 season. The finance major has consistently contributed to the Lions’ success sence arriving on campus, showcasing both athletic prowess and academic dedication.
Coogan appeared and started in all 47 contests in 2025, posting a .309 batting average with 56 hits, 35 RBI, 21 runs, 11 doubles, and two home runs. His offensive contributions were pivotal throughout the year, including driving in a pair of runs against Bridgeport on February 21, tallying two hits against both New Haven (March 9) and Bentley (March 10), and collecting two hits and one RBI at #7/#10 West Chester (March 18). He achieved a career-high three hits against Staten Island on March 23 and launched his first career home run, scoring three times and driving in two against Assumption on March 26. Coogan also tied his career-high with three hits against both Mercy and St. Thomas Aquinas (March 29, April 4), hit a triple and drove in three against Pace on april 19, and was named to the ECC Weekly Honor Roll on April 7. He excelled in postseason play, hitting .600 (9-for-15) with five RBI in the ECC Tournament (May 8-10) and totaling three hits and three RBI in the NCAA East Regional against Pace (May 18).
Prior to his 2025 success, coogan steadily developed his game. In 2024, he appeared in 16 games, making eight starts, totaling eight hits and driving in seven runs while scoring five times, including a two-hit, one-RBI performance against Felician (Feb. 16) and a career-high four RBI against Dominican (Mar. 16). In 2023, he appeared in 10 games, making one start, earning his first hit and RBI against Assumption (feb. 19) and tallying two RBIs in two appearances against Mercy (Mar. 26, Mar. 27).
Before joining the lions, Coogan was a standout at Long Island Lutheran High School, where he played three seasons of varsity baseball.He was named the Regular Season and Playoff MVP for the Private Schools Athletic Association, recognized as one of the Top 100 players on Long Island, and earned Second team All-Long Island distinction. He also honed his skills playing travel ball with Next Level Baseball.
Coogan is the son of Donna and Jim, and lists Mookie Betts as his favorite player while rooting for the New York Yankees. He also enjoys basketball and lists chicken parm as his favorite food. He is currently majoring in finance at Molloy University.
