UTA Mavericks Women’s Basketball Adds Lakeland Transfer, Imani Quinn
Arlington, TX – The UT Arlington Mavericks women’s basketball team has announced the addition of Imani Quinn, a transfer guard from Shaw University, to their roster for the upcoming season. Quinn brings a diverse collegiate background and proven scoring ability to the program.
Quinn joins the Mavericks after two seasons at Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. In her most recent 2023-24 season, she appeared in 29 games, making 16 starts, and averaged 5.6 points, 2.3 rebounds,and 1.4 assists in 21.1 minutes per game. She reached double figures wiht a season-high 14 points against Claflin on February 3rd, also dishing out a season-best four assists in that contest. Quinn recorded a season-high five rebounds against Claflin on February 29th and three steals against Mid-Atlantic Christian on November 18th.
During the 2022-23 season, Quinn showcased her scoring prowess, averaging 11.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.0 steals across 24.8 minutes per game. Her best scoring performance of that year came against Livingstone on February 8th, where she scored 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including five three-pointers. She grabbed a season-high six rebounds against Francis Marion on january 1st and recorded five assists at Livingstone on January 18th, along with a season-best four steals against Virginia-Lynchburg on January 19th.Prior to Shaw, Quinn excelled at Lakeland Community College, earning First Team All-District honors and being named Team MVP.She averaged 19.6 points per game for the Lakers, highlighted by a remarkable 42-point performance against St. Clair County Community College on November 13th, where she shot 81% from the field. She also had one 30-point game and eight 20-point performances during her time at Lakeland.
Quinn is a 2019 graduate of Southview High School. She is one of several newcomers joining the Mavericks for the next season,alongside transfers Mile Reynolds (Purdue),Amiyah reynolds (Purdue),Jadyn Atchison (ODU),Jeanne Rodriguez (Salt Lake Community College),and Erin Sellers (Menlo College).
