Together,rising star suri Lin (林廷憶) was recognized as Best New Actress for her compelling performance in the Netflix series “Born for the Spotlight” (影后).
First Taiwanese Win for “The Outlaw Doctor”
This marks the first time a Taiwanese production has received this honor since the inception of the Global OTT Awards in 2019. Lin’s award acknowledges her nuanced portrayal of Shih Ai-ma (史艾瑪) in “Born for the Spotlight,” a character discovered by the charismatic agent “Ms. Chubby” (胖姐), brilliantly played by Chung Hsin-ling (鍾欣凌).The series,directed by Yen Yi-wen (嚴藝文),has garnered critical acclaim for its honest and frequently enough humorous depiction of the entertainment industry and the challenges faced by aspiring actresses.
