While the first home game isn’t until October 4th, the UVC McDonald’s Ried team and management have been actively preparing for the season. Players have moved into thier team quarters, and a rigorous training schedule encompassing both team and strength conditioning has been established.
Notably, of the six new additions to the roster, only one hails from Austria, with all players exceeding 1.93 meters in height. This focus on height and international experience is a clear strategic move by the team.
Introducing the New Players
The team welcomes a diverse group of athletes, each bringing unique skills and experience:
- Filip Palgut (2.01 meters, Number 9): A 33-year-old Slovak international, Palgut brings a wealth of professional experience, having previously played for Amstetten and AICH/DOB.
- Daan Streutker (2.02 meters, Number 11): Streutker, 26, has a history with Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel and recently played for VK Trox Pribram in the Czech Republic.
- Daniel Šulista (1.94 meters, Number 16): The 24-year-old Czech attacker will be embarking on his first international season with the UVC McDonald’s Ried.
