1.Enhanced Confidential Mode for Sensitive Facts
Gmail’s Confidential Mode, first introduced in 2018, has received updates to further protect sensitive email content. When activated, this mode prevents recipients from forwarding, copying, printing, or downloading your emails and attachments. A secret code is required from the recipient to access your message. For Gmail users, this code is generated by Google and delivered to their inbox. Recipients without gmail accounts can receive the code via SMS, requiring the sender to have the recipient’s phone number. This feature is especially useful for sharing Personally Identifiable Information (PII) like social security numbers, financial details, or medical records.
