BREAKING: Turin’s Royal Museums will host a special “One Night at the museum” event on August 9, 2025, for the Night of San Lorenzo, offering exclusive access to normally closed areas and a unique blend of art, astronomy, and music.
The Silencio club is curating the event,transforming the royal Museums of turin into a nocturnal destination on Saturday,August 9th,2025,to celebrate the annual Night of San Lorenzo (st. Lawrence’s Night). The evening will combine guided exploration of the museums’ historical collections wiht performances, astronomical observation, and musical experiences set within the royal gardens.
Visitors will gain access to typically off-limits spaces including the Royal Palace, the chapel of the Shroud, the Royal Gardens, and the Apartments of the Princes. These historically significant environments,designed by architect Filippo Juvarra and decorated by artists such as Francesco De Mura,Giovanni Battista Olivero,and Claudio Francesco Beaumont (Pecheux),will serve as the backdrop for artistic installations,performances,readings,and musical performances. The exhibition “Asa Nisi Masa,” showcasing the work of Giuseppe Maraniello – known for his sculptures, paintings, and drawings blending symbolism, mythology, and memory – will be open in the royal gardens.
The event features a collective installation exploring the theme of desire, created by Lunar (Mattia Varsalona). Attendees can also observe the night sky with telescopes and visual aids provided by the Celestia Taurinorum astronomy association. Tarot readings will be available, alongside a virtual reality (VR) experience set in space. Musical selections will be provided by the Shine On You collective, culminating in a candlelight concert in the Roman theater featuring the string quartet, The Archimists, performing iconic film soundtracks.
Admission to the event, including drinks and museum access, is €15. Entry and museum access are free for children under 12,with an additional €5 charge for the Candlelight concert. Registration is required through the Silencio Club website: clubsilencio.it. The event runs from 7:00 PM to 11:59 PM.
