AVID Evo Two speakers” width=”970″ height=”544″>Bristol, UK – February 29, 2024 – British loudspeaker manufacturer AVID has today launched the Evo Two, a new floorstanding speaker designed too deliver enhanced presence and low-end performance. Priced at £27,995, the Evo Two represents a significant addition to AVID’s EVO series, building upon their established reputation for clarity and openness.
The Evo Two is a three-way design featuring a 28mm soft dome tweeter, a 150mm midrange driver, and two 180mm bass drivers. AVID has incorporated its ‘Tuned Mass Technology‘ into the cabinet construction, a system designed to actively reduce unwanted vibrations. This technology aims to dissipate energy generated by the drivers before it can color the sound, resulting in lower distortion and a more transparent audio experience. The drivers themselves are manufactured in-house at AVID’s facility in romsey, Hampshire.
According to AVID Managing Director, Conrad Mas, the Evo Two was specifically developed in response to requests from customers for a speaker that combines impactful bass with the series’ signature clarity. Mas stated that the goal was to create a speaker that offers both “great presence and low-end articulation, whilst maintaining the clarity and openness characteristic of the EVO series.”
The cabinets are available in a choice of gloss black or gloss white finishes. Each pair of speakers is individually tested and matched before leaving the factory to ensure optimal performance. The Evo Two’s sensitivity is rated at 88dB/1W/1m, and it has a nominal impedance of 8 ohms, making it compatible with a wide range of amplifiers.
AVID was founded in 1994 by Ralph Stevens and has grown to become a respected name in the high-end audio market, known for its commitment to British manufacturing and innovative designs. The company also produces turntables and amplification equipment.
