San Jose, CA – A fatal stabbing occurred early Monday morning in East San Jose following a reported altercation in a parking lot, according to the San Jose Police Department.
police responded to a call at approximately 2:33 a.m. regarding a fight in the parking lot located on Story Road, between Adrian Way and Jackson Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unidentified male suffering from at least one stab wound. Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
The suspect, currently unknown, fled the location before law enforcement arrived. A search is underway. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office is withholding the victim’s name pending notification of next of kin.
This incident marks the 17th homicide investigated by the San Jose Police Department in 2025. San Jose has experienced fluctuations in homicide rates in recent years; 2023 saw 31 homicides, a decrease from the 41 recorded in 2022, but still above pre-pandemic levels.The Story Road corridor has historically been an area of concern for violent crime, prompting increased police patrols and community outreach programs.
