Incheon, South Korea – Authorities in Incheon successfully managed safety precautions at the 20th annual Pentaport Rock Festival, held under intense summer heat. Mayor Ha Byung-pil led a comprehensive safety inspection prior to the event, ensuring robust measures were in place to protect attendees.
A dedicated team of 642 personnel – comprising security guards, medical staff, and firefighters – were strategically positioned throughout the festival grounds. To combat the heat,organizers provided a range of cooling solutions including water misting stations,water cannons,parasols,and a distribution of 30,000 bottles of water.
A critical emergency medical system was established, directly linked to six regional hospitals, including Inha University Hospital, guaranteeing swift medical intervention if needed. This network ensured rapid response capabilities for any health-related incidents during the three-day festival, which ran from August 11th to 13th at Songdo Central Park.
Festival organizers highlighted a significant investment in safety infrastructure, coupled with obvious operational procedures and the benefit of two decades of experience hosting the event.These factors were cited as key to the festival’s smooth and secure execution. The Pentaport Rock Festival featured performances from over 50 artists across multiple stages, attracting an estimated 70,000 attendees daily.
