In commemoration of World Hepatitis Day 2025, the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) of the Republic of Indonesia, supported by PT Bio Farma (Persero), has initiated a national health program. The program actively participates in a campaign themed ‘Moving Together, Deciding on Hepatitis Transmission.’
The global theme, ‘Let’s Break It Down,’ calls for collective action to dismantle financial, social, and systemic barriers hindering the elimination of hepatitis, with a target of eliminating hepatitis B and C by 2030. Tri Setyanti, of the Association of the Hepatitis Working Team and PISP Directorate General of Disease Management, emphasized the need for integrated early detection in primary health services and prioritized cross-sectoral collaboration.
“The government encourages National Commitment, Right Investment, and the active role of the community, medical personnel, Professional Organizations, and Mass Media,” Setyanti stated.
PT Bio farma (Persero) demonstrated its commitment by actively participating in the Ministry of Health’s ‘Moving Together,Deciding on Hepatitis Transmission’ campaign. The campaign commenced with a national educational Webinar entitled ‘Together with opponents of hepatitis B: education, vaccination, and concrete action’ on Tuesday, july 29.
As part of the BUMN Pharmacy Holding, PT Bio Farma plays a crucial role in providing quality and safe hepatitis B vaccines, utilized both nationally and internationally. Fitri Puspadewi, National Commercial Vice President of Bio Farma, noted that the prevalence of hepatitis B remains high among pregnant women, while hepatitis B immunization coverage is unevenly distributed.
“Immunization is the most effective step in preventing vertical transmission of hepatitis. Bio Farma is committed to supporting the national immunization program and invites all parties to participate in public education and campaigns,” Puspadewi said.
Through this strategic collaboration, Bio Farma reaffirms its commitment as a state-owned enterprise dedicated not only to business objectives but also to actively contributing to public health progress, aligning with the mission of creating a healthier, hepatitis-free Indonesia. This year’s campaign focuses on increasing immunization coverage among women of childbearing age in East Adonara, East Flores, NTT, as a key strategy for preventing hepatitis transmission.
