Lebedev Secures Podium Finish at Latvian Speedway Grand Prix,Zmarzlik Maintains Championship Lead

Riga,Latvia – Latvian speedway sensation Roberts Lebedev secured a hard-fought third-place finish at the Latvian Grand Prix held in Riga,a crucial podium for the European champion in his second consecutive season competing in the elite World Championship series.The event, which marks the third consecutive year Riga has hosted a Grand Prix stage, saw polish star Bartosz Zmarzlik extend his overall standings lead.

Lebedev’s Resilient Performance

Lebedev’s journey through the Latvian Grand Prix was a testament to his skill and determination. After an initial victory in his first race,earning three points,he faced a setback with a fourth-place finish in the second,leaving him scoreless. Though, he quickly regrouped, taking second place in the third race for two points, followed by two commanding victories that netted him 11 points heading into the Main Event. This strong performance propelled him directly into the final, where he ultimately claimed third place.

The final race saw Australian Brady Kurtz take an early lead, with lebedev in pursuit. Despite a strong initial showing, Lebedev was overtaken on subsequent laps, finishing the race in third position behind winner Kurtz. Swedish rider Fredrik Lindgren also reached the final, demonstrating the high caliber of competition.

Following the Latvian Grand Prix, the overall standings see world champion Bartosz zmarzlik firmly in the lead with 145 points after eight rounds. Kercs sits in second place with 142 points,while Lindgren occupies third with 117 points.
