Competitions Encouraged to Mark Indonesia’s 80th Anniversary, Fostering Optimism and Creativity

As Indonesia approaches its 80th anniversary, a call has been issued to the public to revive and organize competitions that will foster creativity, optimism, and a sense of togetherness. This initiative aims to imbue the celebrations with a spirit that propels the nation towards prosperity and advancement.

The sentiment is that the excitement surrounding the 80th anniversary should not be confined to national or central events but should resonate throughout the regions. All sectors of society, including communities, government bodies at both national and regional levels, educational institutions, state-owned enterprises (BUMN), regional-owned enterprises (BUMD), and the private sector, are encouraged to participate in making the commemoration vibrant.

The suggested ways to participate include displaying the Indonesian flag and banners in homes and local areas across the country. Furthermore, there’s an appeal to widely disseminate and wear anniversary-related attributes, alongside organizing various cultural activities and competitions with joy.

The government is set to host a central celebration for the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in Jakarta. The commemorative events will commence with a joint prayer at the Proclamation Monument on Friday, August 1, 2025.
