Vietnamese National Assembly President Meets Chinese Counterpart, Emphasizing Strong Bilateral Ties

Hanoi, Vietnam – Trân Thanh Mân, President of the National Assembly of Vietnam, recently held a significant meeting with Zhao Leji, President of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China. The discussions underscored the robust and developing relationship between the two nations, with both leaders expressing a commitment to further strengthening parliamentary cooperation and implementing outcomes from recent high-level visits.

The meeting follows a period of intensified diplomatic engagement between Vietnam and China. president Mân highlighted the warm reception accorded to Chinese Communist Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping’s recent state visit to Vietnam,characterizing it as a landmark event that culminated in a strategic and long-term orientation for bilateral relations in 2025. He emphasized the remarkable progress in Vietnam-China relations and announced Vietnam’s preparations for the inaugural meeting of the interparliamentary Commission between the two countries. President Mân extended an invitation to Zhao Leji to co-preside over this crucial event in Vietnam.

Zhao Leji, in turn, concurred on the importance of sustained strategic exchanges between the leadership of both parties and countries.He stressed the need to implement the agreements reached during President Xi Jinping’s visit and to deepen cooperation between their respective legislative bodies.Both leaders also acknowledged and welcomed the participation of high-ranking officials from both nations in key commemorative events, including Vietnam’s August Revolution and National Day celebrations, and China’s commemoration of the 80th anniversary of victory against fascism.
