World’s Rarest Elephant: The Story of Motty, the Unique Elephant Hybrid

The preserved body of Motty, a unique hybrid animal, is reportedly housed at the Natural History Museum in london, following its acquisition by a private collection upon its death.

Motty, a cross between a zebra and a donkey, stands as a singular example of interspecies hybridization. While motty’s case is remarkable, the animal kingdom features other documented instances of such pairings. Thes include the beefalo, a hybrid of cattle and bison, and the rare wholphin, a cross between a dolphin and a false killer whale. Additionally, there have been documented cases of hybridization between domestic dogs and pampas foxes.
