Egyptian Siltal Group Invests in Senegal’s Industrial Sector


Egyptian Siltal Group Inaugurates Household Appliance Factory in Senegal, Boosting Local Employment

Serigne Guèye Diop, Minister of Industry and Trade, and Badr Abdelatty, Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, officially inaugurated the Siltal factory on the International Industrial Platform of Diamniadio (P2ID) on Friday, July 25.

The Egyptian Siltal group, a specialist in household appliance manufacturing, has established its presence at the International Industrial Platform in Diamniadio (P2ID).During his visit to Senegal, Egyptian Minister for Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty, alongside Senegalese Minister of Industry and trade Serigne Guèye Diop, presided over the inauguration of this new industrial unit. The project, fully financed by the Siltal group, boasts a total investment of 2.7 billion FCFA and is projected to create over 200 direct employment opportunities.

The company’s operations are planned in two phases. The initial phase, commencing in October, will concentrate on producing washing machines, gas cookers, and air conditioners for both the local Senegalese market and the wider sub-regional market. The second phase, slated for February 2026, will expand production to include freezers, refrigerators, and water fountains. this expansion aims to establish Senegal as a key West African hub for refrigeration appliances.
