Paris Fashion Week: Creative Director Debuts & Spring 2026 Trends

The fashion world is abuzz with anticipation as several prominent houses prepare for critically importent creative director debuts and collection launches. Kim Jones, following his successful tenure with Dior Men, is set too unveil his inaugural women’s collection for Dior on October 1 at 2:30 p.m. This follows the departure of a previous creative lead,and the industry is keenly watching to see how Jones will navigate this new chapter.

Another highly anticipated event is Pierpaolo Piccioli‘s debut at Balenciaga, scheduled for October 4 at 8 p.m. Piccioli steps into the role previously held by Demna, a designer whose tenure was marked by significant influence.

October 2 at noon will see Miguel castro freitas present his first collection as the new creative director of Mugler. The following day, October 3 at 11:30 a.m., Proenza Schouler designers jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez are slated to reveal their inaugural collection for Loewe.

Glenn Martens, who garnered acclaim for his couture debut with Maison Margiela in July, will transition to ready-to-wear with his first RTW collection for the avant-garde label on October 4 at noon. Additionally, Duran Lantink is set to bring Jean Paul Gaultier back to the ready-to-wear calendar after more than a decade, showcasing his first JPG collection on october 5 at 4:30 p.m.

These creative shifts arrive at a critical juncture for the luxury sector, which has faced challenges including declining sales, labor issues, data security concerns, and evolving trade policies. While the term “luxury slowdown” has become commonplace, the potential for conscious brand evolution and fresh aesthetic directions offers a pathway toward industry recovery.
