“I’m grateful for the possibility with AAU National Championships to allow some of our divers to compete this summer,” said UNT associate head coach and diving coach Stephanie O’Callaghan. “It was an awesome chance to keep our skills sharp and gain experiance for the upcoming season. Sydney, Ashley and gabi did a great job this past week competing in the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events against some great competition with all three divers making finals.”

“I’m extremely proud of Sydney for her accomplishments winning both events; something that she has worked very hard for as she continues to seek out opportunities to learn and get better and represent the Mean Green,” O’Callaghan added. “Sydney previously competed at the USA spring nationals in May, finishing 10th on 1-meter and making the semifinal on 3-meter. With the win this week at AAU’s, she will get the opportunity to compete with AAU internationally in some upcoming meets, as well.”
