Fantastic Four‘s Post-Credits Scene Hints at Avengers 5 Crossover, Original Chris Evans Cameo Scrapped
Los Angeles, CA – The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film, Fantastic Four: First Steps, is set to deliver more than just the introduction of Marvel’s First Family. Director Matt Shakman has confirmed that the film features an end-credits scene directed by the Russo Brothers, the acclaimed duo behind Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, possibly laying crucial groundwork for future Avengers installments.
Shakman revealed in a recent interview with ComicBook that the Russo Brothers’ involvement in the post-credits scene was a intentional choice, aiming to create a seamless narrative bridge. he expressed his enthusiasm for collaborating with them, stating, “Not at all, especially when I’m going to hand the stick to the Russell brothers, they work very well and they are kind and generous. They are very devoted,and when we’re doing this movie,they want to visit our set,watch the scenes,learn about these characters so that they can treat them better and be responsible for these characters in the next movie.”
He further elaborated on the collaborative spirit within Marvel Studios, likening it to a relay race. “I often feel that working at Marvel is like running a relay race, you pass the baton to the next, do your best to run your own road, and then hand it over to the next one. I passed the baton to Joseph and Anthony, and they’ve already started running, which is great.”
While the exact content of the scene remains under wraps, speculation is rife. A prominent MCU insider, MyTimeToShineHello, recently shared that the original plan for Fantastic Four: First Steps included a cameo from Chris Evans as Nomad, who would have warned the Fantastic four in the ending scene. Tho, this concept was reportedly replaced with a scene featuring Doctor Doom. The final version of the film is said to include two post-credits scenes.
The potential appearance of Nomad, a moniker Steve Rogers (Captain America) was rumored to adopt before Avengers: Infinity War, adds another layer of intrigue. Given Rogers’ current status in the MCU, any return would likely involve a variant from the multiverse.
The Fantastic Four are expected to play a notable role not only in the upcoming avengers 5 but also in the highly anticipated Avengers: Secret Wars, slated for release in 2027.
Fantastic Four: First steps is scheduled to premiere in Taiwan on July 23rd and in the United States on July 25th.
