The main roles of The Legend of Zelda -here are the human versions of Link and Zelda | Brief news

New Casting Announced for Live-Action Legend of Zelda Film

Nintendo has revealed the lead actors for it’s upcoming live-action Legend of Zelda film, with Tom Holland set to portray Link and Kristen Stewart taking on the role of Princess Zelda. The proclamation, made via Nintendo’s social media channels, was accompanied by a statement from Nintendo legend shigeru Miyamoto, who expressed his anticipation for the duo in the iconic roles.

This casting news follows speculation and fan discussions, notably regarding the role of Zelda. Entertainment site Vulture noted that many internet communities had been anticipating Hunter Schafer,known for her role in the hit series Euphoria,to be cast as the princess. Schafer herself had previously told Variety magazine that she is a significant fan of the Zelda games and that playing Zelda in the film woudl be “really cool.” Disappointment from fans regarding Schafer’s absence from the cast has been evident in the comments section of Nintendo’s social media posts.

The Legend of Zelda franchise, one of Nintendo’s most celebrated and enduring, centers on the adventures of the brave warrior Link and Princess Zelda as they strive to protect the Hyrule Kingdom from the villainous Ganon.The first game in the series debuted in 1986.

The live-action film adaptation,slated for a may 2027 release,marks the first theatrical film version of the beloved game.An animated series based on the game was previously produced in 1989.

Plans for the film were initially unveiled in 2023. Directing the project is American filmmaker Wes Ball, whose previous directorial credits include the action films Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and The Maze Runner. Ball has previously shared his vision for the film with Total Film, stating his aim to create a version that is both serious and credible while retaining the franchise’s inherent fun and imaginative qualities.
