Wacom Movink 11: Portable Android Tablet for Artists

Wacom Unveils Movink 11: A standalone Creative Tablet Poised to Disrupt the Market

Wacom,a long-standing leader in the graphics tablet industry, has announced the upcoming release of its Movink 11,a portable creative tablet designed to offer artists unparalleled freedom and versatility. This new device marks a meaningful evolution for Wacom, moving beyond its traditional computer-dependent offerings into the realm of standalone, battery-powered creative tools.

Unlike its predecessor, the Movink 13, the Movink 11 operates on Android 14, eliminating the need for a constant connection to a computer. This fundamental shift allows artists to create anywhere, anytime, directly on the device. The operating system has been heavily customized to provide immediate access to Wacom’s Canvas creation suite. Users can begin sketching instantly by touching the 11.45-inch LCD screen with the Wacom Pro Pen 3 stylus. These sketches can then be seamlessly imported into various applications for further refinement and sharing.

The Movink 11 will also include a two-year trial of Clip Studio paint Debut, a versatile software package that supports artists from character design to animation. Following the trial period, the entry-level license for Clip Studio Paint will be available for a one-time purchase of €49.

While Wacom has yet to disclose the official price and full technical specifications, including processor and battery details, the Movink 11 is anticipated to be more affordable than the current Movink 13,which features an OLED screen. The device was initially expected in early August.Koji Yano, Senior Vice President of Wacom Branded Business, expressed enthusiasm for the new product, stating, “The Wacom Movink 11 accompanies those for whom drawing is second nature. Whether you like to sketch between classes or transition from drawing on a smartphone to a more capable tablet, this nomadic creative tablet makes drawing simpler and more fluid. This launch is just the beginning: the range of nomadic creative tablets still holds great surprises.”

This strategic move by Wacom reflects an adaptation to the evolving demands of the creative market, especially in response to the growing popularity of devices like iPads among artists. Wacom’s decades of market leadership position the Movink 11 to make a significant impact in the portable creative tablet space.
