Samsung is reportedly exploring the possibility of removing wired charging ports from its smartphones, according to a recent survey conducted by Samsung Members. The survey, which polled users on their preferences for wired versus wireless charging, suggests the company is considering a future where phones rely solely on wireless charging technology.
While the survey questions do not confirm Samsung’s intention to eliminate wired charging or integrate Qi 2 magnets into its devices, they indicate that the company is actively considering these potential shifts in its product strategy. This exploration comes at a time when other manufacturers, such as OnePlus and OPPO,are offering magnetic accessories for wireless charging rather than building the magnets directly into their phones. Currently, the HMD Skyline stands as the sole Android device featuring integrated magnets for Qi 2 wireless charging.
