Seattle Welcomes Professional Women’s hockey League Team
Seattle hockey enthusiasts have reason to celebrate as a new professional women’s team is set to debut this fall. The team will compete in the third season of the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL).
The league is expanding into the Pacific Northwest, adding teams in both Seattle and Vancouver.This expansion brings the total number of PWHL teams to eight, all vying for the prestigious Walter Cup.
PWHL Seattle is moving swiftly to establish its presence. Players have already been drafted, and Steve O’Rourke has been hired as the head coach.
General manager Meghan Turner, formerly the assistant GM for the Boston Fleet, is spearheading many of the crucial decisions for the new Seattle franchise. Her experience is vital as the team prepares for its inaugural season.
