X Audio Systems Reveals “Revolutionary” XTRIKE Synth Prototype

Tactile Interface and Dual-Daisy Architecture Mark New Sound Design Era

X Audio Systems has unveiled XTRIKE, a groundbreaking wavetable synthesizer prototype aiming to usher in a new era of sound design. This Swiss brand is preparing for a pre-launch on Indiegogo, offering eager users an exclusive €200 early-bird discount.

Innovative Design and Core Features

At its heart, the XTRIKE boasts a dual-daisy architecture. This design integrates a magnetic bender with an expressive pad surface, providing what the company describes as a tactile, soft-impact-driven interface that feels like a percussive instrument while harnessing the full power of a modern synthesizer.

The synthesizer features four-voice polyphony. It also includes an intuitive auto-tuning and micro-tuning engine for precise pitch control. A 16-step sequencer allows for the creation of complex compositions directly on the device, complemented by a looper capable of 20 seconds of stereo sampling, looping, processing, and multilayering.

Commitment to Refinement

X Audio Systems is transparent about the XTRIKE’s development status. The company stated, Our team is committed to refining the instrument until its design and performance meet our exacting standards. They are currently implementing minor adjustments before moving to production.

The prototype’s features are reportedly performing exceptionally well, with its graphical display lauded as both visually stunning and highly intuitive. However, the team is focused on enhancing the interface, particularly the tactile pad.

X Audio Systems expressed dissatisfaction with the current silicon pad’s responsiveness and appearance, noting it is glued to the faceplate. We are reverting to our original concept of an independent, mechanically isolated pad, the company explained. This revised approach involves integrating a PCB interface, aiming to significantly improve sensitivity and the user experience.
