PUBG Patch 2.96 Deploys, Addressing Predator Medal Glitch and UI Fixes
A new patch for PUBG, version 2.96, has been released for playstation 4 and Xbox one, bringing a series of fixes to player-reported issues. The update specifically targets a frustrating bug that prevented the “Predator” medal from being awarded in Ranked matches, even when a player successfully eliminated an entire enemy squad solo.Previously, players encountered a problem where eliminating the same opponent multiple times within a single Ranked match would incorrectly disqualify them from receiving the “Predator” medal, nonetheless of their overall performance. This patch rectifies that oversight, ensuring the medal is awarded correctly for exceptional individual play.
Beyond the medal fix, the update also addresses several User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) issues. Key among thes is the correction of incorrect key guides displayed when aiming the Stun Gun from a vehicle’s driver seat. Additionally, a blank Clan – Members page, wich occurred when a clan member deleted their account, has been resolved. Players will also notice a correction to the Ranked Play display, where the RP requirement for the master tier was previously shown incorrectly as “more than 3400 RP” rather of the accurate “3400 RP and above” on the Rank Tier Rewards and How Ranked works pages.
On the PC side, the patch resolves an issue where items removed from the Spawn Tool in Training Mode could still be loaded via the ‘Load Gear Set’ feature. PC players will also benefit from fixes related to the Customize – Weapons – Charms page, where the check mark indicating equipped items was either missing or misplaced. Moreover, issues with G-Coin item preview pages opening unexpectedly and the Discord Rich Presence timer periodically resetting during replays have been addressed. Steam Rich Presence will now also display the correct elapsed time during replay and Death Cam playback.
The patch also includes several fixes for item and skin clipping issues, ensuring a more polished visual experience for players. These include addressing transparency issues with specific character outfits and shorts combinations.
This latest patch follows the critically important PUBG update 2.18, which introduced new content such as the Food truck vehicle, changing weather effects, and various map enhancements on deston. Players can download the free PUBG version 2.96 for their respective consoles.
