RENO, Nev. – The Nevada Health Centers‘ Mammovan is marking a critically important milestone, celebrating 25 years of delivering essential and convenient mammography services to women throughout Nevada. This invaluable mobile unit will return to northern Nevada for screenings from Wednesday,July 16,through Friday,July 25,with scheduled stops in Carson city,Sparks,Reno,and Yerington.

“Early detection is key in the fight against breast cancer, so access to screenings is critically important,” stated a Nevada Health Centers news release. The Mammovan’s commitment to accessible healthcare continues to be a cornerstone in the community’s well-being.

Women aged 40 and older are primarily encouraged to schedule appointments. However, screenings are also available for younger women who possess a referral from their healthcare provider. To book an appointment, individuals can call (877) 581-6266 and select option 1.

The Mammovan accepts most major insurance plans, Medicaid, and Medicare.Furthermore, screenings are provided irrespective of economic status, with potential coverage for costs supported by the program’s generous donors.
