Skopje Mayor Daniela Arsovska, who is a Bulgarian citizen, was attacked at noon today, according to BGNES.
It happened in the Skopje neighborhood of Chair while it performs official duties – during an inspection of an illegal building against the local police station there.
“In front of the police, I was kicked and threatened to rape me and kill my whole family,” Arsovska said after leaving the Emergency Center of the City Multiprofile Hospital “September 8”. The Ministry of the Interior (Ministry of Interior) announced that two attackers were detained.
This is not the first incident with a Bulgarian citizen. After the burning of the Ivan Mihailov Cultural Club, Christian Pendikov was beaten.
Arsovska was systematically attacked because of its Bulgarian documents since the election campaign in 2021, when it was erected by VMRO-DPMNE, by then Prime Minister Zoran Zaev. He became known for saying that “a mayor is elected in Skopje, not mayor.”
Very soon, after Arsovska took over the management, an open clash with the chairman of the DPMNE Christian Mitskoski, to whom she refused to obey. The attacks against her increased sharply after Mickski took over the executive branch.
