Almost a whole year after actors in the gaming industry went out on strikethe parties have entered into a new agreement. It announced SAG-EAFTRA on Thursday.
On their website Confirmed the union that the proposal for a new agreement was adopted, with more than 95 per cent votes. The agreement comes into force immediately, and the strike is thus officially over.
The actors in the gaming industry have in recent years fought for generally better conditions. Protection against unregulated use of KI technology has also been an important fighting matter, which is now in place.
“Now that the agreement is approved, actors in computer games can benefit from significant benefits and important KI protections, which we will continue to build on as the use of this technology is excluded and further developed,” said SAG-EAFTRA summit Duncan Crabtree-Ireland.
Audrey Coolingspokesperson for the gaming companies involved, also satisfied with the agreement and further cooperation with SAG-EAFTRA members.
-We are pleased that SAG-EAFRA’s members have approved a new Interactive Media agreement, which provides extensive wage increases, industry-leading KI protection and extended health and safety measures for the actors.
