World, July 11, 2025 (ATB Digital) .— A music teacher in Canada was sentenced on Wednesday to four years in prison for sexually abusing a minor student, local media reported.
According to a declaration read in the court, Nicole Macleod, 37, began to speak through social networks with a 15 -year -old teenager who, although he was not his student, studied at school where she taught, in the city of Tatamagoucher (province of Nueva Escotia). Subsequently, his relationship became more personal and transcended to the sexual field.
In June 2024, the teacher practiced oral sex to the young man and then rented an accommodation through Airbnb where they had sex. That same month, Macleod was arrested and then received probation. However, he violated the prohibition of contacting the student and in November he was arrested and put in pretrial detention.
Macleod, who suffers from mental health problems, admitted the facts and declared himself guilty of four crimes of sexual aggression. This June 9, during the audience, apologized for the trauma or pain that could have caused to the victim, which attends therapies. In addition to the conviction, he will not be able to approach the child for 10 years, a period in which he cannot work or have contact with children under 16. It also has the use of Tiktok and Snapchat.
