Liberty Stars Shine Bright at All-Star Weekend

The New York Liberty’s stellar season has earned them significant representation at the upcoming All-Star weekend in Indianapolis. Several players will showcase their talent on the big stage.

All-Star Starters Named

Earlier this week, Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu were selected as All-Star starters. Their outstanding performances have solidified their place among the league’s elite.

Coaching Honors for Brondello

Liberty coach Sandy Brondello will lead Team Napheesa Collier, a testament to the Liberty’s impressive record. The team held the second-best winning percentage in the league as of Thursday, earning Brondello the coaching nod.

Hopes for Reserve Spots

Natasha Cloud and Jonquel Jones are hopeful their names will be announced this Sunday as the league reveals the 12 reserves. These players are selected by the league’s coaches.

Jones’ All-Star Worthiness

Jones put up impressive numbers, averaging 15.6 points and 11.3 rebounds in her first six games. Unfortunately, a sprained right ankle limited her to only nine games. While there isn’t a minimum game requirement for All-Star selection, her injury may impact her chances. Notably, as of July 5, 2025, only 34 WNBA players have averaged over 15 points and 10 rebounds this season (StatMuse).
