**Simmons** on the Radar

Salary Cap Constraints

Due to the expected signings of **Jordan Clarkson** and **Guerschon Yabusele**, the **Knicks** might only be able to offer **Simmons** a veteran’s minimum contract, placing them in the second apron for salary-cap implications.

**Yabusele** Deal Details

The **Knicks** plan to use their taxpayer mid-level exception to sign **Yabusele** to a two-year, $12 million deal.

Injury-Plagued Tenure

**Simmons**’ time with the **Nets** was marred by back issues, limiting him to just 90 games over three seasons. During that span, he averaged 6.5 points and 6.3 assists after being acquired in the **James Harden** trade with the **Philadelphia 76ers** in 2022.

Clippers Stint and Coaching Change

After leaving **Brooklyn**, **Simmons** joined **Harden** on the **Clippers**, where he averaged 16.4 minutes in 18 games. With their coaching vacancy filled by two-time NBA Coach of the Year **Mike Brown**, succeeding **Tom Thibodeau**, the **Knicks** are now focusing on adding a veteran point guard.
