A significant cold snap has blanketed various areas of Argentina, as temperatures plummeted below freezing in the afternoon. This extreme weather event has affected numerous cities, causing residents to brace themselves against the biting cold. The National Meteorological Service has reported the latest data.

Bitter Coldest Locations

Around 2 PM, the city of **Esquel** in Chubut saw temperatures drop to -5.1 degrees Celsius, becoming the coldest location. Meanwhile, **Puerto Deseado** in Santa Cruz registered -3.2 degrees, and **Malargüe** in Mendoza reached -2.4 degrees, according to the National Meteorological Service. These conditions are impacting daily life in the affected areas.

If the wind chill is taken into account, the situation intensified. In **Puerto San Julián**, Santa Cruz, the perceived temperature was a frigid -8.4 degrees. **Puerto Deseado** felt a bone-chilling -8.3 degrees, and **Chapelco**, Neuquén, experienced -5.3 degrees. Even within Greater Buenos Aires, the cold was evident, with **Ezeiza** at -2.1 degrees and **El Palomar** at -1.7 degrees. The city of **La Plata** also faced sub-zero temperatures, registering -1.3 degrees.
