Czech Car Production Shows Mixed Signals Amidst EV Surge

Overall Output Dips, but Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Gains Momentum

The Czech Republic’s automotive industry presents a complex picture. While overall passenger car production decreased, electric vehicle manufacturing continues to grow, suggesting a shift in the market. This comes amidst changing consumer preferences and a global push towards greener transportation solutions.

Production Figures

Between January and May 2025, the production of passenger vehicles in the Czech Republic fell by 6.3% to 611,160 cars. However, in May alone, output saw an increase, reaching 120,292 cars. This represents a rise compared to the same month the previous year. The Association of Automotive Industry announced these figures.

“The slight May revival on the European market is also obliged to produce domestic automakers whose total production deletes losses from the beginning of the year.”
